RASHID, THE BOY FROM SINJAR wins the DOC. fixed price of SOS-Kinderdörfer weltweit !

Already for the twelfth time at the DOK. Festival Munich the DOK. Awarded to SOS children’s villages worldwide – this year to RASHID, L’ENFANT DE SINJAR by Slovenian director Jasna Krajinovic.
A poignant film about resilience and the search for home:
Rashid survives being dragged by ISIS as a child. While his sister remains captive, he returns with his family to Sinchar in northern Iraq – a region full of uncertainty and new tensions. On the threshold of adulthood, Rashid wrestles with the question: stay or leave? His story sets an example for a generation of children who had to grow up in war.
From the formation of the jury:
“Rashid captivates from second one. He tells the unimaginable – violence, loss – and still retains an impressive resilience and warmth. His story and personality make the movie extraordinary. The strong author’s performance, the camera work and the unadorned look at human fate give the film great artistic and social relevance.”
The jury in 2025:
