A woman who is in great mourning after the suicide of her farmer husband, a widespread tragedy in India, is represented not through her victimhood but through her strength and dignity. The intimacy of the portrait of Sanjivani is enhanced by scenes of her involvement in a support group for women in the same situation. The film shows us that the only way forward is to heal together.
