‘Samuel in the Clouds’ selected for Full Frame and Trento Film Festival

With great pride we announce the official selection of ‘Samuel in the Clouds’ for the 20th anniversary of the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival in Durham (USA). The film is selected for the ‘New Docs’ program and will be screened on Thursday April 6th, 2017 at 01:10 pm. The award ceremony will take place on Sunday April 9th, 2017.

Moreover, the Trento Film Festival (Italy) announced the official selection of ‘Samuel in the Clouds’ for their 65th edition! The film will participate in the main competition at the festival, which will be held from April 27th until May 7th 2017.

We are incredibly proud of these selections and congratulate Pieter Van Eecke and the rest of the crew with this great news!

‘Samuel in the Clouds’ wins ‘Mejor Fotografía’ in Bilbao

We are very happy to be able to announce that ‘Samuel in the Clouds’ has won the award for ‘Mejor Fotografía’ (Best Photography) at the Bilbao Mendi Film Festival. The photography of the film was in the hands of Johan Legraie.

“The beautiful Bolivian landscape is not only portrayed cinematographically, but it also supports the consuming story of the main character and the nature around him. Thanks to the successful cinematography, the viewers are able to get an idea of how it feels to Samuel when he looks at the changing world around him.”, the jury stated.

Official Selection ‘Samuel in the Clouds’ and ‘A Family Affair’ at FIDOCS

We are incredibly happy with the news that ‘Samuel in the Clouds’ by Pieter Van Eecke and ‘A Family Affair’ by Tom Fassaert have been officially selected for the Festival Internacional de Documentales de Santiago in Chile! Both films will participate in the ‘Panorama Internacional’ competition.

Tom Fassaerts documentary Feature ‘A Family Affair’, produced by Conijn Film and coproduced by Clin d’oeil films has been nominated for the 29th edition of the prestigious European Film Awards in the category ‘European Documentary’! The award night will take place on December 10th 2016 in Wroclaw, Poland.

‘Samuel in the Clouds’ wins Gold Hugo in Chicago

‘Samuel in the Clouds’ is the 2016  Chicago International Film Festival winner of the Gold Hugo in the Documentary Competition. Director Pieter Van Eecke was present to receive this award for his film. The jury  shared wonderful comments about the film: “The Gold Hugo goes to a visually astonishing and quietly heartbreaking film that makes you experience climate change, not just think about it. In a humble cabin at the top of the world, science and spirituality might offer possible solutions to the frightening changes that endanger our future. Subtle yet urgent, modest yet ambitious, this film challenges us to confront the reality of global warming, but like its main character, it encourages us to keep hope alive.” Congratulations to Pieter Van Eecke for this great achievement!

‘A Family Affair’ wins Gouden Kalf at the Nederlands Film Festival

The Gouden Kalf for Best Feature Documentary at the 2016 Nederlands Film Festival goes to ‘A Family Affair’, coproduced by Clin d’oeil films. Congratulations to director Tom Fassaert and Conijn Film, the producer of this film.

‘Samuel in the Clouds’ wins Nature and People Award in South Korea

‘Samuel in the Clouds’ has just been awarded with the Nature and People Award at the Ulju Mountain Film Festival in South Korea. Director Pieter Van Eecke was at the festival to receive this award for his film. We would like to congratulate Pieter with this prize!

Official selection ‘Between Sisters’ in Valladolid

Manu Gerosa’s documentary feature ‘Between Sisters’ has been officially selected for the Semana Internacional de Cine de Valladolid – Seminci in the competitive section ‘Tiempo de Historia’. The film will be screened on Monday the 24th and Tuesday the 25th of October 2016.

Creative Europe supports slate Clin d’oeil films

What a great start of the summer: Creative Europe supports our slate! Three of Clin d’oeil films’ projects in development, ‘Sunnyside’ by Frederik Carbon, ‘La Vie est un Jeu de Cartes’ by Philippe de Pierpont and ‘Kastom Kopiraet’ by An van Dienderen and Hugo DeBlock, are granted funds. ‘Fields of Hope’ at the pitching forum of Thessaloniki

Director Olivier Magis & producer Hanne Phlypo are preparing for the pitching at Thessaloniki.

In the mean time broadcaster Canvas committed to coproducing and Caviar will be in charge of the tax shelter financing.

Also renowned film campaigner from the UK Ben Kempas will collaborate for the outreach campaign.

In Belgium we will pitch the project at the Good Mooov pitch (Mooov film festival – end of April)

 

‘Between sisters’ international premiere at True/False

The feature documentary ‘Between Sisters’ is part of the great line-up of True/False in Columbia, Missouri, where the film will have its international premiere. The director Manu Gerosa will be there to present his film.
